Anishinaabe Ogichidaag (Anishinaabe Warriors)

(War of 1812)

The Anishinaabe (Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi) played a critical role in the War of 1812, primarily siding with the British against American expansion. They were instrumental in key victories, such as the capture of Fort Detroit alongside Tecumsehand the Battle of Michilimackinac. Many Anishinaabeg fought to protect their lands and way of life, participating in battles across the Great Lakes and Niagara frontiers.
