This composition was inspired by X Battery, 5e Régiment d’artillerie légère du Canada, as a sub-unit of the 3e Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment Battle Group conducting combat operations in Afghanistan from 9 August 2007 to 26 February 2008. 
The title of this composition is “UBIQUE” the Latin word meaning “everywhere”. “Ubique” and “Quo Fas et Gloria Ducunt” are the mottos of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. Ubique takes the place of all battle honours in recognition of the artillery’s service in all battles and campaigns.
This title is indicative of the Canadian Batteries having served in Afghanistan, and deployed in Kandahar, Helmand and Uruzgan Provinces, including the Districts of Zharey, Panjwayi, Arghandab, Ghorak, Shaw Wali Kot, Maywand, Kandahar, Daman and Khakrez.
This image portrays a Troop of Canadian M777 Howitzers in action, deployed in an austere desert gun position in the Canadian Area of Operations of Kandahar Province and is dedicated to all Gunners of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery who served the guns in Afghanistan.
